TORONTO - March 29, 2016 - PRLog -- "I'm Still Standing (http://www.imstillstandingseries.com)," the 5 part documentary series introduced to us in January, is wrapping up their first season on March 31, 2016 with community champion and entrepreneur, Shereen Ashman as she revisits the location of her near death experience from gun violence.

The series has received acclaim from viewers who have been enthusiastic about sharing their views on Twitter. TdotgotSOUL said, "Here's a great series to check out for some #mondaymotivation and general #wellness. Thanks for sharing! #Selflove," while another viewer wrote in to say they were moved to end a severely abusive relationship after watching episode 1.4 with Talia Bryan, who was also a victim of domestic abuse.

The series appears on YouTube, highlighting the stories of six women who overcame adversity on their way to success. Entrepreneur, fashion stylist and program manager at Community Empowering Enterprises, Shereen Ashman, will revisit her near death experience from gun violence and her humble beginnings in the Caribbean during the final episode.

Many women found the series inspiring and drew strength from hearing how other women triumphed over situations that would seem impossible to some. The events and challenges the featured women faced and shared in the docudrama only served to make them fight harder for their dreams. Kristal High Taylor (https://twitter.com/KristalHigh/status/707261450994081793...) tweeted, "Thank you for the important work you do!"

The series addressed struggles the women from Canada and the U.S. faced, ranging from depression and homelessness to gun violence and extreme poverty. The women share their stories with grace, dignity and honesty, recounting how they beat adversity and attained success even when the odds were stacked against them.

The idea for the "I'm Still Standing" series grew from Jackson's own experiences and her work as a counselor and social worker. She was inspired by the women's stories of courage and knew they would instill hope and faith in others. Jackson is the series host, executive director and was the subject of the first episode.

Women featured in the series included Paulette Cleghorn, creative director at Yumi Katsura North America and the CEO of Designer Loft productions; Marcella Kennedy, a childcare provider, blogger and owner of bbinsideout.com; Talia Bryan, a licensed social worker for the Department of Defense in Washington, D.C.; and Andree Nicole, an educator, author and certified life coach.

As Season 1 wraps up with its finale on March 31, 2016, Jackson is accepting submissions from women who are available for online and on-camera opportunities at "I'm Still Standing."
