Follow on Google News | New Look For a Familiar Paddock FaceThe iconic Denis Welch Motorsport race transporter is refreshed and ready for 2016 season and beyond.
The trailer was completely stripped down and new one-piece side panels fitted to replace the previous sectional and riveted ones, providing a sleeker and more modern look. The whole unit was then painted in a traditional bright Red finish. With a blank canvas to work with there was a great opportunity to produce some new decals. Whilst it can be tempting to completely cover such a large area of space, the decision was made to keep the design fairly minimalist. Large, eye-catching Denis Welch Motorsport wings ensure the truck can be seen easily both in the paddock and from afar. There's also a nod to the Denis Welch Motorsport built, record breaking, Healey Endurance car which continues to hold a number of national and international speed records including the UK Fastest 100 miles for any car regardless of age or engine size. Safety is always a primary concern with such a large vehicle both for driver, passengers and the precious cargo of classic race cars contained within. New slim line LED marker lights have been fitted which are brighter than the previous filament bulbs, significantly improving visibility to other road users. As they are flusher to the bodywork this has the added bonus of improved access to the lower lockers, which could easily damage the previous lights if opened too far. The Denis Welch Motorsport transporter is an important part of race service provided to customers. It can carry up to five cars, tools, spares and personnel to race meetings. The full width awning provides shelter at events enabling the team of mechanics to look after cars at the circuit and help with inter-race servicing and checks, rain or shine. There are facilities on board for minor repairs allowing the experienced crew to take the worry out of race days, leaving customers free to enjoy their day. Managing Director Jeremy Welch said "The paintwork and livery looks bright, clean and is really striking. The rebuild has allowed us to restore the trailer unit inside and out, improve the interior features and update the exterior. We take great pride in everything we do and know our customers really appreciate the full service we provide to them at race meetings. Our refurbished race transporter not only looks the part but also provides our customers a safe and secure race transport and support solution that is second to none". Historic motorsport fans will have a chance to see the new Denis Welch Motorsport truck at events including the Donnington Historic Festival, Silverstone Classic, Spa 6 hours and the GTSCC finale in Portimão in October. As always Denis Welch Motorsport encourage enthusiasts to come and see the cars being worked on at the meetings and use the opportunity to pick up the latest Healey and Jaguar Performance Catalogues.
