"The contest is a great way to see a snapshot of the many great experiences our students had around the world and it is something I look forward to every year." Students are encouraged to look through their pictures and submit their best work to have them displayed in galleries throughout the College of Business Administration. To be eligible, business students had to have studied abroad in the 2015-2016 academic year. Students could submit up to five photos in one of four categories: architecture, landscape, portrait or Kent State abroad. Pictures edited by filters or recoloring applications were not accepted, but cropping, resizing, adjusting brightness and black and white photos were allowed. Students submitted photos from their study abroad experiences from Austria, Belgium, Croatia, England, France, Germany, Greece, India, Ireland, Italy, Monaco, the Netherlands and Switzerland. "Students are not only studying in Europe, but around the world. Their photos provide others a global window into the places College of Business Administration students have access to," said Theresa Wallace, director of the International Programs Office at the College of Business Administration. "We believe a well-rounded business education includes an international education experience abroad." All College of Business Administration students are given the opportunity to apply for the John F. Fiedler-Borgwarner International Scholarship, a $2,500 scholarship created to support undergraduate and graduate students who want to experience international study. The college offers study abroad opportunities in more than 10 different countries for a semester, spring break or during the summer. Last year, more than 140 business students studied abroad and the International Programs Office expects these numbers to continue to grow.
