SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105.  Join us for live entertainment by Actor/Comedian Steven Michael Quezada and The Riddims Burque Sol, Pin-Up/Rockabilly Style Contest, kiddie land, raffle, food & fun for the family.  In addition, Star Paving Co. is having a raffle to benefit the YDI Foundation who supports YDI's mission of "Helping Children Youth and Families Achieve Their Full Potential'.

BACKGROUND - Star Paving Company "Large or Small We Do It  All"

Star Paving Co. was founded in 1956 by Ernandez Vallejos.  Ernandez decided to join and partner with his brother-in-law Rosendo Cruz after building a small Hot Plant at the bottom of the hill near Rosendo's residence located at 1741 Coors Rd SW. During this time Rosendo Cruz's sons, Roy and Joe M. Cruz joined Star Paving Co. doing a variety of jobs including as a truck driver, operator, bookkeeper and everything in between. In 1978, a decision was made to sell Star Paving Co. Mr. Ralph Villegas.

Joe M. Cruz and Roy Cruz partnered with the common desire to continue their father Rosendo Cruz's legacy and in 1982 they seized an opportunity to regain control of the company when the Villegas Family decided to sell.  After purchasing they restarted Star Paving Co. with only five (5) employees.  In the year 2000, Joe M. Cruz became the sole owner of the company, and he has since grown Star Paving Co. into one of the nation's largest Hispanic owned companies in the country with over 75 employees.  Joe M. Cruz has poured all his energy into the company and teaches his employees the importance of honesty, integrity and the value of hard work, by adhering to those same values.

In addition to the high quality of work Star Paving Co. provides, they are also a company that generously gives back to the community, which has made them so successful.  Some charities include: Little Leagues, High School Sports, Veterans, Youth Development, Inc. (YDI), Boxing and MMA Clubs.  During this past year, Star Paving Co. donated work to a community park located in Rio Rancho, which provided a playground for the hearing impaired.
