Suffolk County Skilled Nursing Facility acknowledges Parkinson's Disease Awareness Month

MEDFORD, N.Y. - April 14, 2016 - PRLog -- A resolution sponsored by Assemblywoman Addie J. Russell (D-Theresa) on April 6, 2016 was passed, calling on Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo to declare April as Parkinson's Disease Awareness Month in New York State

"Research shows that one million American's have been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and a new diagnosis is made every nine minutes in the United States alone. We want to ensure that the community is aware and is cognizant of the signs and symptoms of the disease." Stated Norman Rausman, owner of the Medford Multicare Center.

The Suffolk County Skilled Nursing and Rehab facility is planning an awareness event day, to distribute informational packets to the community and to ensure that all those affected by the illness are receiving the necessary treatmants as well as being properly educated.
