SEATTLE - April 18, 2016 - PRLog -- The Philanthropy Committee of the Columbia Tower Club, in connection with the One Eighty Foundation and the Columbia Tower Club has announced the recipients for its annual November Givers Ball and VIP Auction.

After an exhaustive search and vetting process, the Committee is proud to announce that Seattle not-for profit organizations Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and Seattle Men's and Women's Choruses will be the recipients of the proceeds from the Committee's November 5, 2016 Givers Ball and Auction.

The annual event, rebuilt by the Philanthropy Committee in 2015, was re-imagined and expanded to highlight the work of Seattle area not-for-profit organizations doing great work in the community, and to give back to them in meaningful ways. In 2015, the beneficiaries were YouthCare, Treehouse for Kids and ACT Theatre.

"This event is an amazing opportunity for us, as a community of members and supporters from the Columbia Tower Club and the Puget Sound community in general to give back and honor the work of wonderful organizations like these, while having a great time doing so," said Nick Simonton, Chair of the Philanthropy Committee.

This year's Givers Ball will feature an exclusive VIP auction with a special creative dinner created by Columbia Tower Club's Chef Tyler and then transition into the extravagant Givers Ball - a masquerade ball complete with craft cocktails, local wines, food, dancing, and much more.

"This is such a pivotal time in the quest for cancer cures, so it is a timely and special honor to be chosen as a beneficiary by one of Seattle's premier institutions," said Dr. Gary Gilliland, president and director of Fred Hutch.

"On behalf of the 400 volunteer singers of our choruses, we are honored to partner with the great people at the Columbia Tower Club and its Philanthropy Committee," said Steven Smith, Executive Director of Seattle Men's Chorus & Seattle Women's Chorus.

The Columbia Tower Club Philanthropy Committee, sponsored by Seattle's One Eighty Foundation, is a board of philanthropic Columbia Tower Club members. In addition to the annual Givers Ball, the group also hosts monthly "Drink for Good" Happy Hours which introduces local not-for-profit organizations to members in a casual environment, and works with the Columbia Tower Club on other local philanthropic events, including the local Charity Classic.

About the Columbia Tower Club Philanthropy Committee
The Columbia Tower Club's Philanthropy Committee strives to engender a philanthropic spirit within the CTC membership by supporting our Seattle area community through education, events and services.

The CTC Philanthropy Committee (CPC) aims to be a valuable philanthropic resource to the community by showcasing local and regional nonprofit groups and service-related projects, through events, campaigns and service opportunities. In doing so, the CPC seeks both to give members the opportunity to enhance and extend their own philanthropic initiatives, and to strengthen CTC member traditions.

By supporting such initiatives, we encourage CTC members to make an educated and lasting impact on Seattle and the Puget Sound region, and to promote the ideals of service and giving back. Additionally, we seek to connect CTC members with broader charitable interests, enabling those who wish to extend their philanthropic impact throughout Seattle and beyond.
