By: Point Loma Playhouse Ted Williams: A Tip of the Cap will take place on April 25 2016 at 7:30 pm at the Point Loma Playhouse, 3035 Talbot St, Point Loma CA 92106. Admission is a $10 suggested donation. Directed by Hilary White, this one man show chronicles San Diego native baseball great, Ted Williams, from his formative years with the Pacific Coast League Padres to the Boston Red Sox then from his dramatic run at .406 and the Korean War. Through this first person perspective, we share in Ted's strengths and failures as a ballplayer, husband and father. The San Diego Hall of Champions Museum originally commissioned Ted Williams: A Tip of the Cap, which was performed at North Coast Repertory Theatre in 2011. As with all previous performances a portion of the donations go to Ted William's favorite charity The Jimmy Farber Cancer Fund. Help those young people that are unable to help themselves. About the Reading Series: The Point Loma Playhouse is dedicated to the exploration of new playwrights and their work. Through the staged reading and development process, new plays are explored for possibly production on the main stage. This season we are excited to announce four plays by San Diego writers. Join us for wine, thought and exploration of new art. Discussion is held after each reading. The readings are free and open to the public! Point Loma Playhouse is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit service arts organization. We are dedicated to presenting quality theatre and providing educational opportunities to the public.
