Follow on Google News | FBDCH to Host Laundromat Takeover - Paying for Local Community's Laundry Needs on April 30By: First Baptist Church of District Heights The community is invited to attend the event at the First Laundromat located in District Heights, Md. "We will supply everything needed to wash and dry clothing, including the quarters, soap powder, fabric softener, bleach and dryer sheets," said Dr. Bobby Manning, senior pastor of FBCDH. "People will have four hours to wash as many loads as they want." FBCDH will also make available its mobile "community clothing closet," which will be located in the parking lot of the laundromat. The clothing closet contains donated items for men, women, and children from local stores, such as Burlington and Jos. A. Bank, as well as gently used dry cleaned items provided by church members. In addition, free refreshments and music will be on site for all to enjoy. "This is going to be a great day for our community. We really want to encourage people to come out and let our church members serve them with kindness and love," said Dr. Manning. "We take our direction from the example that Christ set through serving. In a similar vein, caring for the clothing of others is a way for us to serve and help meet needs." This is the second "Laundromat Takeover" held by FBCDH.
