BEACON successfully launches THE SOLAR PROJECT in Sharjah sun-powering the youth

SHARJAH, UAE - April 25, 2016 - PRLog -- Beacon Energy Solutions launched THE SOLAR PROJECT_2016 in Sharjah for the first time - a CSR initiative to promote solar power as an alternative to conventional energy.

The project is an invitation for young minds to harness the sun's energy and go onto become a new generation of leaders who are aware, inspired and sun-powered.

THE SOLAR PROJECT which took off in 2015 at three schools piloted 220 students was followed by a whopping 221 students at Delhi Private School-Sharjah at one go.

The students of Delhi Private School Sharjah which consisted of 221 students, from grade 7, cooked a packet of noodles in a simple to use solar cooker, that the students assembled by themselves.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Sandhya Prakash, CEO of Beacon, said:

At an impressionable age, if renewable energy is logically presented, sustainable innovation will stem in these young minds which will impact the society positively in the long run."

The inspiration for The Solar Project is from India, where the largest solar cooking session was held on 4^th January 2014, which went into the Guinness Book of World Records with participation of 3639 participants.

After the huge success of our pilot test, Beacon is planning to break the above record during Sept-Oct 2015 with a potential participation of more than 11,000 students from across UAE.

Speaking on the occasion of The Earth Day - Mrs Vandana Principal, Delhi Private School -Sharjah stated "The Solar Project is one with a purpose, how big things can be achieved in the most simplest ways and most important we need to walk the talk of saving the earth. Our school is always at the fore front of environmental initiatives and have an enthusiastic Eco Council and Carbon Detectives involved. It is action time now. "

The goal of "The Solar Project" is also to spread awareness to parents as well and ignite conversations in the home about sustainability and clean energy.
