DCG Software Value to Present at the STAREast Conference

MALVERN, Pa. - April 26, 2016 - PRLog -- DCG Software Value, a global provider of software analytics, software quality management and Agile support services, will present at TechWell's STAREast conference on May 1-6 in Orlando.

The STAR conferences (STAREast, STARWest and STARCanada) focus exclusively on software testing and quality improvement, covering the latest software testing technologies, concepts, and tools.

Michael D. Harris, CEO of DCG Software Value, will present, "Budgeting, Estimation, Planning and #NoEstimates - They ALL Make Sense for Agile Testing!," on Wednesday, May 4, at 1:45pm. He will discuss the difference between budgeting, planning, and estimation, as applied to testing in an Agile environment, and he will outline when each technique makes sense, when they don't, and in what combination for testing.

"Many developers, particularly in Agile environments, have an almost singular focus on completing the project or tool at hand in order to deliver it to the end user. The #NoEstimates momentum is a byproduct of this mentality. But should #NoEstimates be a concern for the testing community, who know exactly how developer over-confidence leads to insufficient testing time?," said Mr. Harris. "In an ideal world, testing would be done first, through test-driven development, but is that what the #NoEstimates crowd have in mind? My presentation will focus on examining #NoEstimates in the context of traditional and Agile estimating, with a short case study to show how it can impact testing specifically in an Agile environment."
