Follow on Google News | The importance of in vitro discussed at ADMET 2016SMi reports: The importance of in vitro is just one of the key topics to be discussed at SMi's 11th annual ADMET conference which will return to London on the 13th-14th June 2016.
By: SMi Group On Day One of the conference hear from Genentech (based in North America, the region with the highest market share in the in vitro market) and Imperial College London as they discuss the importance of in vitro methods of prediction. Titled 'Humanized Animal Models - Potential Tools for the Study of Drug Transporters', Laurent Salphati, Senior Scientist, Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics from Genentech will be discussing: Uses and limitations of in vitro transporter assays in the predictions of drug disposition and DDIs as well as humanised models available and characterisations. Laurent will also present a case study on translation to human and limitations of humanized models for drug disposition and DDI predictions. Ian Wilson, Chair, Drug Metabolism and Molecular Toxicology from Imperial College London will present on 'Better Models for Understanding, Predicting and Avoiding Drug Induced Liver Injury'. His session will touch upon: how unexpected hepatotoxicity remains a significant cause of drug failure and withdrawal; how the prevention of DILI requires better in vitro, in vivo and in silico methods of prediction as well as how improved understanding of the mechanisms of DILI is leading the development of new model systems To view the full two day programme with all speakers and their topics, visit the event website on www.admet-event.com/ The final early bird will expire on the 29th of April, saving you £200.
