By: World Class Group The Renaissance of Change is not coming, it's already here. Innovation has become the new constant in business today. The technology boom has driven the celebration of new ideas and solutions to an all time high with no sign of stopping this wave of companies and individuals getting in on the bandwagon to have the courage, determination and innovative spirit to ask the question "How could we do this better, more cost effectively, different. There seems to be more start ups erupting on almost a daily basis than ever before offering to provide solutions in how we can save time, make friends, create business leads, accomplish our daily tasks more seamlessly, manage our time, our customers, our lives. Another front within the 'innovation renaissance' is employee engagement within organizations and companies that sponsor a platform that brings to life 'encouragement, support and rewards' for idea collaboration from within their ranks. Change is the new constant in companies today, propelled by creating value for the stakeholders of their product or service. 50 years ago, it would be unthinkable in the majority of companies to encourage innovation ideas from within, as the majority of companies had a fixed perspective that decried ... "If it Ain't broke, don't fix it" , or "we have always been doing it this way". As some of the darlings of the Fortune 500 back then are now in the 'extinct museum', many companies today are spurred ahead to re-invent they way they think, operate, produce, and celebrate innovation in the work place so that they too can avoid the perils of doing nothing new. The classic example to the corporate world today is Kodak, once a darling stock to own with a 100-year legacy literally buried the invention of one of their employees who designed and invented what we know today as a digital camera, citing that it could disrupt their business model of selling 35 mm film. Indeed it did. Innovation teams, camps and workshops and forums are now springing up within organizations and communities to welcome input from the people that, in many ways, have a vested interest in seeing positive inspired ideas for change germinate and grow. Innovation, is change, and is happening whether anyone likes or not. Organizations today have two choices. Resist it, like the once giant Kodak did, or … Embrace it and celebrate the power of employee engagement to roll up their sleeves to ask the question; "How could we do this better?" Michael J.
