Highland Court Alzheimers and Memory Care Opening Soon

PORT ANGELES, Wash. - April 27, 2016 - PRLog -- Highland Court, Port Angeles' new memory care community, will soon be offering private tours and accepting resident reservations in anticipation of their grand opening in summer of 2016. Highland Court is a uniquely designed one-story building totaling 15,849 square feet that provides around-the-clock care for up to 43 residents. With comfortable furnishings, advanced monitoring, and specially trained professional staff.

"According to The National Alzheimer's Association, one in nine seniors ages 65 and older are diagnosed with Alzheimer's each year and our goal is to provide the best care possible to residents and support families as they go through this difficult transition," stated ownerTerri Waldroff.

The staff at Highland Court, led by Executive Director, Kristine Clawson, is specially trained to care for residents with Alzheimer's and other forms of memory loss. Every staff member is dedicated to creating a safe environment and providing caring support. Residents will have direct and easy access to staff, who carry iPods that report activated nurse alerts. Staff will also be able communicate with one another instantly through their iPods.

The memory care community will include social gathering areas with casual furniture, craft/ TV spaces, dining areas and outdoor areas. Residents can take pleasure in the fully enclosed raised gardens and walking paths. Some of the services that will be provided to residents at Highland Court include;individual and structured group activities, assistance with activities of daily living, monitoring of health care needs, assistance with transportation and scheduling transportation all in a secured setting.
