By: Fair Farming Foundation Now the village School kids are enjoying facility of computers, sitting on benches, wear proper school dresses, facility of hygienic toilets for boys and girls, safe drinking water for the residents, sanitary facility for each household, solar street lights on roads, Bio-gas units and many livelihood interventions can be seen in the village. Further, Tapan Ray, President of Fair Farming Foundation said "It's a Story that shine a light on how CSR can transform the backward villages into the sustainable model villages.A profound change has taken place here, I believe its always a challenge to transform the village into an inspirational model of how to integrate social, economical and environmental sustainability but Participatory, community-led decision-making is central to the way our model works and is also fundamental to sustainability. Further he added that more and more companies are improving the way they do business with passionate leadership. Doing good for society is good for business and positively impacts a company's bottom line. Success means providing a safe and inclusive workplace for the employees globally; and respecting, supporting and investing in the local communities in which company operate. A majority of the villages in the country still face constraints such as access to education, health facilities, drinking water, power, roads, credit, information and market. The CSR project of LT Foods Ltd & Fair Farming Foundation envisages integrated and holistic development of villages in consultation with village community, with convergence of various development programmes of the Government. With effect from April 1, 2014, every company, private limited or public limited, which either has a net worth of Rs 500 crore or a turnover of Rs 1,000 Cr or net profit of Rs 5 cr, needs to spend at least 2% of its average net profit for the preceding three financial years on CSR activities as made mandatory by Ministry of corporate affairs, India. By introducing the separate section for CSR in Companies Act, 2013, the Government of India has given legal recognition to their community development approach. In pursuance of the CSR rules, LT Foods is showing its commitment by conducting its business in a socially responsible manner.
