Bail Bondsmen: Unlikely Mentors?

PORT HURON, Mich. - April 29, 2016 - PRLog -- 1st Choice Bail Bonds recently finished its "Student Bail Out" pilot program in St.Clair County Michigan. The program is designed to educate young adults on the importance of making smart decisions and staying out of trouble. Additionally, students get an opportunity to learn about the criminal justice system and the vital role that both Sheriffs and Bail Bond Agents play within in it.

Last month, 1st Choice Bail Bonds worked with 2 prominent St.Clair County & Macomb County high school's to conduct a "pilot" of the innovative new program. Several students were selected to participate in the program, which involved a dramatic mock arrest and bail bond interview as well as a final summary article.  Christine Clark of  1st Choice Bail Bonds, a leading bail bond agency in St.Clair County and member of the Bail Bond Network, Gave great apperication to everyone who volunteered their time to help out with the program. "I think this concept is a really good idea" says Christine Clark. "The reality is bail agents like myself are having these types of conversations with young adults and their parents all the time. To raise awareness around the importance of making good decisions at this point in their lives and to educate them on the criminal justice process, including the role that bail bondsman play is extremely valuable."

Through its network of over 5000 bail agents across the country, We are planning to roll this program out nationally later this year. "Most people today don't understand the role of the bail bond agents and only see them as how they are portrayed by Hollywood and the media, and that is never in a good way. The truth of the matter is bail agents are hard working small business owners that are in the business they are in not just to make money, but to help people…people who are usually not prepared for the situation they are in. What better than to take that element of our business and share it with young adults and try to provide them with some small nuggets of wisdom and guidance."
