RSM Names Sam Mascareno West Regional Managing Partner

SAN DIEGO - May 2, 2016 - PRLog -- RSM US LLP (RSM) - the nation's leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market - announced today that Sam Mascareno has been appointed to serve as managing partner for the firm's West region, effective May 1, 2016.

In his new role, Mascareno will have responsibility for leading teams focused on serving clients in Phoenix, Ariz.; Irvine; Los Angeles; Pleasanton; San Diego; San Francisco and San Jose, Calif.; Las Vegas, Nev.; Olympia, Seattle and Tacoma, Wash. The area includes 11 RSM offices. Mascareno will also be a member of the RSM US LLP combined leadership team.

Mascareno succeeds Don Natenstedt who is taking on a new role as leader of the firm's new domestic tax compliance service center.

Mascareno has served as office managing partner and tax leader for the RSM office in San Diego, as well as the tax practice leader and federal credits and incentives group leader for the West region. He currently serves on the national tax leadership team.

Mascareno is a Certified Public Accountant and has more than 22 years of experience serving clients with a focus on domestic and international tax issues impacting middle market companies, including life sciences, technology, manufacturing, wholesale/distribution and cross-border/international companies. He graduated with honors from San Diego State University with a Master's degree in taxation and a Bachelor's degree in accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and California Society of Certified Public Accountants. He frequently speaks to professional organizations on tax issues impacting businesses.

Mascareno will continue to be based in RSM's San Diego office at 1455 Frazee Road, Suite 600, San Diego.
