Refining Fire Atlanta Inc. Celebrates Foster Care Awareness Month with Benefit Concert

ATLANTA - May 2, 2016 - PRLog -- "Dance Through It" Foster Care Awareness Benefit Concert will be held Sunday, May 29, 2016 4p-6:30p to highlight foster care awareness month which is recognized during the month of May. The concert will be held at the Porter Sanford Arts Center 3181 Rainbow Drive Decatur, GA 30034.  The proceeds from the event will go toward RFA and its effort to help Foster Children in the State of Georgia. RFA partners with Chris Kids, Elks Aidmore Inc., A Friend's House, Vision Youth Services and a host of other group homes throughout the Atlanta metro area.

ABOUT RFA

Refining Fire -Atlanta (RFA) seeks to foster healthy, stable, long-term relationships with at-risk youth which will improve their social, emotional, and spiritual well-being. RFA focuses on the mentoring and development of leadership and life skills of foster children, at risk youth and young adults ranging from ages 13-25. RFA includes community outreach, mentoring and dance as a means of therapy and developing interpersonal skills.

The Founder

Refining Fire Atlanta Inc. was founded by Visionary/CEO Jonita McKinney, who was also a foster child from age 13-21 and a teenage mother. "In 2013, I moved to Atlanta and embarked on a new journey of self-discovery. Soon after relocating I joined The Vision Church of Atlanta under the presiding Bishop O. C. Allen III. At that time, I became a member of Spiritual Gifts in Movement. In early July 2015 GOD spoke to me in a dream and birthed Refining Fire - Atlanta. RFA's purpose is to change the world ONE heart, ONE child, ONE person in need at a time!"

The concert is produced by Playwright, Danese Turner, who serves as the Artistic Director of The Purpose and Power Connection and as the Director of Worship Arts at Turner Chapel AME Church.
