Music artist Kango Slimm of PNC seeks to distance himself from news story

A WWL news story showing a video featuring Kango Slimm is causing problems for the beloved artist, who is attempting to distance himself from the theme of the news story.

NEW ORLEANS - May 3, 2016 - PRLog -- Last night's WWL story regarding violence in New Orleans played a snippet of a video from the 89 Boyz where Walter "Kango Slimm" Williams was featured singing a hook. The story went on to show a violent act that occurred during filming, none of which had anything to do with Mr. Williams or his music. He is seeking to distance himself from anything dealing with this news story. He was merely paid some years back for a musical performance that had absolutely nothing to do with violence or any negativity whatsoever.

Mr. Williams is an upstanding, beloved citizen of New Orleans who does not engage in any of the acts depicted, nor is he in any way involved in any of the violence or negative activities shown in the WWL news story. Mr. Williams spends a great deal of his free time working with at-risk youth to help prevent many kids from being so negatively affected by the violence that runs so rampant in and around the Greater New Orleans area. He is also the parent of four adult children, all of whom attend prestigious colleges. With regards to the news story, Mr. Williams states, "I am a musician who was merely paid for a performance years ago. I am a parent who was always active in the lives of my children, and I raised four well-adjusted children who attend college. I have no involvement whatsoever in the type of activities shown in the WWL news story."

As a result of his image being shown last night, Mr. Williams' business has been impacted negatively. It is important to note that Mr. Williams and his business partners should not suffer the consequences of the actions of individuals who have absolutely nothing to do with Mr. Williams, his lifestyle or that of his business partners. Mr. Williams is very upset at the negative light in which he has been portrayed. His reputation has been harmed as a direct result of an appearance in a music video filmed years ago - one in which he received payment for services provided, something he does all of the time in his line of business. Mr. Williams wants the general public to know that the WWL news story is in no way connected to his music or to him personally. He states, "I do not in any way condone violence or crime. I cannot stress enough that I was in no way involved in the actions shown in the news story. I had absolutely nothing to do with that."

Mr. Williams is a most upstanding, well-known and loved entertainment personality whose music stands for itself. It is upbeat as is he, and we most definitely want the world to know this.
