Statewide, travelers spent a record $122.6 billion. "2015 was the sixth consecutive year of growth for the tourism industry," said Visit California President and CEO Caroline Beteta. Visitor spending generated $25.5 millionin state and local tax revenue for Yolo County, proving that the travel and tourism industry is a strong economic driver for the region. These figures, while impressive alone, only scratch the surface of how tourism is transforming our communities for the better. "In Yolo County, tourism accounted for 3,950 jobs in 2015, and that represents a 6.2% increase over 2014, well ahead of the state average," says Alan Humason, Executive Director of the Yolo County Visitors Bureau. "Tourism-related spending in Yolo County generated $25.5 million in state and local tax receipts last year, equal to $340 per household.
