The American Conference on Diversity Welcomes Constantina Meis to the Staff

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. - May 6, 2016 - PRLog -- The American Conference on Diversity is proud to announce the addition of Constantina Meis to the staff. In her role as Office Coordinator, she will manage daily operations, provide administrative support to the President & CEO, and help expand the statewide nonprofit's diversity and inclusion education programs.

"The American Conference on Diversity is honored to have someone with Constantina's diverse experience and knowledge on our team," says President & CEO Elizabeth Williams-Riley.

Ms. Meis is a first-generation Greek-American who attributes her career success to the sacrifice of her parents. She was the first within her immediate family to earn both a high school and college degree. Pursing her passion to serve the community, Ms. Meis studied Political Science with a concentration in Public Administration at Bloomfield College.

Ms. Meis brings a decade of experience in local, state, and national political and issue campaigns to the organization. This includes serving as Field Operative for Field Strategies, a political firm based in Washington, D.C.; Campaign Manager for the Passaic County Democratic Committee; Hudson County Director for a US Senate campaign; and Statewide Deputy in New Jersey for Obama for America '08, providing training and community engagement. In 2015, she was elected to serve as Executive Vice President on the national board of Young Democrats of America. During her tenure, Ms. Meis pursued several initiatives and leadership trainings, including the Rising Star Program that gives women, minorities, and people with disabilities the tools needed to become more engaged in community organizing and politics. Prior to joining the American Conference on Diversity, Ms. Meis was the Youth Development Specialist for Boys & Girls Club of Newark. She continues to believe in the power of youth engagement and currently serves as a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters in Newark. Ms. Meis is also active in her local community, serving in her hometown as a member of the Bergenfield Environmental Committee. Over the past three years, this experience has further provided her with insights on the tools today's youth need to succeed.

As the newest member of the American Conference on Diversity team, Ms. Meis says she hopes to build on her appreciation for diversity and take action through her work. "I'm willing and ready to support the American Conference on Diversity's vision and mission to build more inclusive and just schools, workplaces, and communities," she says.

Please join us in welcoming Ms. Meis to the organization.
