By: UES Inc. The workshop will focus on the application space for continuous human performance monitoring through the collection and analysis of bio-fluids, and will include a tour of the Air Force Research Laboratory's Flexible Electronics and Additive Manufacturing facilities, including the HUMAN and STRONG labs. A stellar group of speakers from the US Olympic Committee, Mayo Clinic, muliple defense agencies, universities and industries, as well as the NBMC and UES, will explore wearable human performance monitors from the end user perspective. Dr. Melanie Tomczak, Director of the Biological and Nanoscale Technologies Division at UES, and Board Member of the NBMC, shares her perspectives on wearables. "There are many institutions making concrete progress in this area. Events such as this workshop will enable us to share our findings on emerging sensor systems, and better understand customer interests as the R&D advances toward products." About UES Inc: Founded in 1973, UES, Inc. is an innovative science and technology company that provides its government and industry customers with superior research and development expertise and world-class support. We take great pride in developing products and services from our technologies for commercialization and transition. About NBMC: NBMC brings together the leading scientists, engineers, and business development professionals from industry and universities to work collaboratively to create an integrated suite of nano-bio manufacturing technologies and transition them to production. Initial activities focus on military priorities around physiological readiness and human performance monitoring. Formed in April 2013 under a grant from the Air Force Research Labs to FlexTech Alliance, the initial project is focused on system development and integration for a lightweight, low-cost conformal and wearable patch that is less than $2 with an operation of 24-72 hours.
