Orange County Business Journal to Celebrate the 17th Annual Family-Owned Business Awards

IRVINE, Calif. - May 11, 2016 - PRLog -- The Orange County Business Journal proudly hosts the 17th annual Family-Owned Business (FOB) Awards. Awards will be presented to five family-owned firms in five categories: Small Business, Medium Business, Large Business, Up & Coming, and Longevity. Winners are chosen based on the business's vision, accomplishments and contributions to the local community.

Slated to take place at noon on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the Hotel Irvine, the ceremony will celebrate the spirit and accomplishments of Orange County's family-owned businesses.

Co-Founder and Chief Visionary Officer Alexis Schulze, and her husband Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer Steve Schulze of Nekter Juice Bar will deliver the event's keynote address. Alexis and Steve founded Nekter Juice Bar in 2010 with the mission to re-invent the juice space, similarly to the way the coffee experience was re-invented in the early '90s.

Starting with just five employees, one location and only $640 in sales on its first day, Nekter has since grown to more than 50 locations across five states, employs more than 700 employees and generates over $40 million in revenue - all in only five years.

Today, Steve and Alexis's goals go far beyond simply making a profit - their goal is to empower communities to live healthier lives by providing access to fresh, pure juices and foods in a welcoming and energetic environment. Nekter Juice Bar was also honored as an Orange County Business Journal 2013 Family-Owned Business Award recipient.
