Follow on Google News | Women's Fundraiser Brings in More Than $21,000 to the Boys & Girls ClubsBy: Mayerson Marketing & PR Live and silent auction items include vacation getaways, gift certificates to local restaurants, beauty products, accessories and more. The event has marked significant growth since the inaugural fundraiser three years ago, which raised about $14,000. All proceeds go directly to support the Boys & Girls Club's programs which are free to members. Their programs promote music and the arts, character and leadership and technology as well as provide resources for children, teens and parents. "We're so pleased that we far exceeded last year's total because every dollar really makes a difference for the Club and its members. This was such a labor of love for all of those involved," said Nancy Mayerson, event sponsor and organizer. "We are beyond grateful to Waterside Restaurant and Wine Bar, our gracious volunteers and all those who donated." Sponsors included Bridal Premiere, Montecito Bank & Trust, CBC Federal Credit Union, Nothing Bundt Cakes-Ventura, Waterside Restaurant and Wine Bar and Edible Ojai and Ventura County. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme exists to inspire and enable all young people to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. The Club has served the youth of Oxnard and Port Hueneme for 60 years. With three full-service clubs, 18 school program sites and one housing site, the organization is one of the largest of its kind in California, serving more than 9,200 members annually. It's also the first Boys & Girls Club of its kind to open in the Juvenile Justice Center.
