About Lamson Products

Lamson and Goodnow dates its origins to 1837 when founder Silas Lamson began manufacturing the first two-handled scythe in the United States. Based in Shelburne Falls along the Deerfield River, Lamson began making agricultural tools but soon after expanded into custom tools, kitchen cutlery and other blade and edged tools. By the late 1800's Lamson cutlery was the knife of choice of US Presidents and most of America. The company expanded into trade tools, wooden and silicone kitchen products and accessories, as well as laboratory and graphic tools. In 2015, the new Lamson Company relocated its offices and manufacturing to Westfield, Massachusetts, staking a new location to uphold the tradition of quality craftsmanship its customers have known and expect.
