It's Race Season and One Local NC Hat Shop Has Got Preakness Covered

RALEIGH, N.C. - May 14, 2016 - PRLog -- During the horse racing season, the Mad Hatter sees a renewed interest in large, derby-style hats.    From the Kentucky Derby, to Preakness, to the Belmont Stakes-racing enthusiasts show up in their largest, most unique hats.  This tradition has been in place in the United States for countless years.  The Kentucky Derby kicks off both the Triple Crown races and big hat season among the horse community.  With the upcoming Preakness, Mat Hatter wants thoroughbred race fans to know, they've got them covered.

"We sell a lot of hats during race season," says owner Bobbie Asad.  "These events require one-of-a-kind hats and we're one of the few shops that still have them.   Our hats  are from  New York City's fashion district."

Asad 's shop has two large hat racks and a small stand just for fascinators.  While the shop is known for its hats, the store also boasts a plethora of other "fun" items.  From teas and teapots to locally made scented soaps and lotions, and assorted specialty food items that customers rave about.  Asad claims people may come for the hats, but they are excited to discover the other items displayed in the shop.
