Voyager Vacation Club Provides Scholarships to 6 Illinois Students

TULSA, Okla. - May 20, 2016 - PRLog -- Through their hard work and diligence, six exceptional Illinois students received $1,000 each to put towards their continuing education.  These six students not only excelled in their studies, but have all overcome substantial obstacles in their lives.  Voyager Vacation Club believes in giving back to the community and to students who show great promise and perseverance.

Congratulations to this year's recipients from Warren Township High School in Gurnee, Illinois:

Nicholas Parrott, Marquette University
Zachary Shanaberger, Columbia College
Philip McCue, College of Lake County
Valentina Rodriguez, University of Illinois, Springfield
Kjersten Johnson, Hope College
Melissa Cannon, College of Lake County

Recipients of the award are eligible for scholarship renewal the following year, including this year's recipients, Nicholas Parrott and Zachary Shanaberger, by maintaining at least a "B" average and donating at least 40 hours of charitable community service over the following 12 months.

Voyager Vacation Club received a heartfelt letter from one of the scholarship recipients, Nicholas Parrott, stating how grateful he was for the support and generosity given to him in his desire to continue his education.  Nicholas is doing well at Marquette University and is excited to return in the fall to continue his pursuit of a fine arts degree in theater.  Nicholas is making more dreams come true as he is spending the summer traveling with a world-class drum corps named the Bluecoats (bluecoats.com) and hopes to land a lead role in a stage production when he returns back to campus in late August.  In his letter Nicholas also states that he plans to keep in touch and will be applying for another scholarship next year.
