FORT SMITH, Ark. - May 19, 2016 - PRLog -- No. 1 ranked rider in the CBR Horizon World Standings, Jacob O'Mara of Baton Rouge, Louisiana returns to Mena on Saturday, May 21 to defend his current CBR ranking at the Mena Ford and Choctaw Casino Ultimate Bull Riding at 8 pm on the Polk County Fairgrounds.

O'Mara has won an unprecedented three event championships this year on the televised Road to Cheyenne CBR tour.  O'Mara, a CBR and PRCA National Finals Rodeo qualifier, will have his work cut out for him as he will go up against several of the hottest bull riders on the CBR's two tours, including the No. 2 ranked rider on the Horizon Series Tour who is just a few points behind him. O'Mara who has returned to bull riding as a professional, suffered catastrophic injuries in 2013 and has worked his way back to the top of the professional standings.

To spice things up O'Mara who recently won Tuff Hedeman's Fort Worth CBR Challenge, will be traveling to Mena with his bull riding rookie brother in law, Koby Radley, as they compete against each other for bragging rights of the Horizon Series leaderboard.

You will not want to miss this rare opportunity to see such great young bull riding talent in Mena that also includes a few Arkansas cowboy athletes. Together, these two Louisiana cowboys have earned over $100,000 on the combined CBR tours in this 2016 season alone. Also returning to the CBR roster is former World Finals qualifier and former event champion Billy Quade Phillips from Henryetta, Oklahoma. The roster includes 4 cowboys that are part of the elite qualifiers of the CBR World Finals and two local riders, Gannon Ivy from Hampton and Corby Sturdivant from Crossett.

The Horizon Series tour serves as the qualifying tour and was created to give new riders the opportunity to break on to the CBR Road to Cheyenne tour, the nationally televised tour which is currently airing on Fox Sports Network's FoxSports2 channel.

"This will mark the second year for Mena to host a CBR Horizon Series Event, each year we try our best to bring the best bulls and bull riders available to the event.  Any time you have World Champions and riders like O'Mara, Radley, and Ramagos who are ranked in the top slots nationally - at a horizon series event you know it is going to be a good night and we appreciate them taking the invitation and coming to Mena," said Tollett who will be producing this year's event.

The CBR Horizon Series Championship is still up for grabs with several events left before a new Horizon Series Champion will be crowned at Cheyenne Frontier Days in July. With valuable points still available at each remaining event and a $20,000 bonus to the winner, bull riders will travel from multiple states to compete in Mena for their share of the points and prizes.

CBR also announced a line-up of all-star buckers loaded in the bucking chutes from several former stock contractors of the year Mike Rawson and Jeff Harris who might unload a few of the bucking bull of the year candidates. The bulls will also be competing in a 4 bull team challenge competition format with a prize package worth over $20,000 to the top placing teams.

The Saturday night May 21 event will feature two rounds of competition beginning at 7 pm. Tickets are available at Bear State Bank, Exon, and Wendy's, Scotty's in Cove, The Branding Iron, Skyline Café, Papas Mexican Café or at the gate. Tickets $10.
