Ablaze She Came in the Dream comprises eleven brief episodes, which may be repeated any number of times during a performance. Ablaze is intended to serve as an interpretive vehicle for the performers and thus should be executed freely and expressively. In its original version, the work was scored for flute, viola, and guitar (or electric guitar); the premier performance, given in November, 2014, and featuring Peter H. Bloom on flute, Frank Grimes on viola, and Anastasiya Dumma on electric guitar, may be viewed at https://vimeo.com/ More recently, the composer adapted Ablaze for flute, cello, and guitar, so he could perform the work with a cellist friend. As with the original instrumentation, all players should feel free to employ electronics.
