Volunteer Minister says Alberta Strong, Brave in Wake of Fort McMurray Blaze

Amongst the veritable wave of compassion and help demonstrated when a wildfire swept through Northern Alberta earlier this month, are Scientology volunteer ministers of Edmonton.

EDMONTON, Alberta - May 20, 2016 - PRLog -- The Volunteer Ministers are a group whose mission is to help where they are needed, in times of disaster, stress or fear.

Created by Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard in the mid 1970s, the Volunteer Minister program is a broad initiative bringing effective physical and spiritual assistance to anyone, anywhere. Expressly intended for use by Scientologists and non-Scientologists alike, anyone of any culture or creed may train as a Volunteer Minister and use these tools to help their families and communities. And all are welcome to do so.

In Edmonton, Volunteer Minister Kara Murray says the teamwork and partnership she experienced helping in Edmonton has been inspirational.

"Alberta citizens, businesses and governments are amazing as is demonstrated in the way the province has rallied to ensure that everyone is taken care of during this crisis. The motto is Alberta Strong, but it could just as easily be Alberta Compassionate, Alberta Brave, Alberta Responsible. I am so proud to be a part of this community.  It is touching and inspiring to see the support from the rest of Canada and the world." She says "It is our privilege and duty to help those who need it."
