Contemporary Furniture Leader Sklar Furnishings Taps Retail Furniture Industry Veteran Scott R. Schubert As Chief Operations Officer

Schubert as Chief Operations Officer (COO). Effective May 11th, the announcement was made by Rick Howard, president of South Florida-based Sklar Furnishings, the only independent contemporary furniture showroom and design center of its kind in the region that is now entering its 15^th year in business.

In the newly created position, Schubert will join Sklar's executive leadership team and be responsible for the 22,000-square-foot showroom. Complete with a full team of credentialed home and office designers and space planners, Sklar Furnishings provides high levels of residential and commercial design and service with customization at the foundation of its philosophy. According to Howard -- a past president of the Home Furnishings Association, Schubert brings to Sklar more than 19 years of accomplished retail sales and management experience in the home furnishings and design industries. Throughout his career Schubert has honed a successful track record in driving independent showroom and regional sales growth, training and coaching in sales and products and managing regional brand expansion. As COO, he reports directly to Sklar president Rick Howard.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with concentrations in business, sociology and music from State University of New York at Stony Brook. Relocating to Boca Raton from Orlando, he is married and has a two-year-old son.
