National Workshop on Green Technology and EIA at Heritage Institute of technology Kolkata

KOLKATA, India - May 31, 2016 - PRLog -- Heritage Institute of Technology, Department of Chemical Engineering and Civil Engineering organized a National Workshop on Green Technology and EIA from 26th May 2016 till 31st May 2016 in The Heritage campus sponsored by TEQIP-II.

The workshop was addressed by Dr Kalyan Rudra, Chairman, West Bengal Pollution Control Board as the Guest-in-Chief during the inaugural session along with Mr Abhijit Dasgupta, Joint MD, M N Dastur & Co. Ltd and Ms Mohua Basu, DGM, HR, Haldia Refinery Ltd as the Guest of Honour.

The workshop included various presentations on latest techn ologies of Green technology and factors important for EIA. It was also contributed by Padmashree Prof. (Dr.) G.D.Yadav, VC, Institute of Chemical Technology Mumbai and Dr. Apurba Gupta, Former Director, NEERI.

The workshop also focused on utilizing waste to create bio-fuel for sustainable development in the Indian Economy. More than 100 participants including faculty members and students attended the workshop. "Such workshops are very much beneficial for our stuidents," said Prof. B.B.paira, Advisor, Kalyan Bharti Trust.
