Spruce Dickerson was crowned Miss Plus America Elite in 2011 in the ​Miss Plus America Pageant​; and she made history by being the first and only person to win the highest title in this pageant system who did not win her state title. In 2014, she was crowned the first ever Miss Plus America Essence in the Miss Plus America Pageant. During her three year pageant journey, Spruce won awards for Most Photogenic, Spirit Award, Ms Community Service and Miss Texas Plus America Ambassador, and the Model Portfolio Competition.Spruce has faced some horrific life experiences and has risen above the struggle. Being a caregiver most of her life, she has dealt with the death of loved ones more times than one person should have to in their lifetime.

Beginning when Spruce was a young twenty­nine year old taking care of and losing her husband to cancer, to nursing her terminally ill mother and losing three of five brothers in tragic accidents; not to mention all the pre­and post­death arrangements and emotions to manage. And currently, she is caregiver to her elderly father. Spruce has overcome what could be considered insurmountable odds. But, she has survived those painful valleys with a dogged determination of not letting the sorrow of life choke her spirit. She chose to love, live and give each step of the journey.

As a national­winning pageant coach Spruce has an impressive record of taking her clients to the top with a 90% success rate in the crowning and Top placing of her clients. Yes, winning the crown is important and is the goal, but as Spruce experienced, ​"It's not about the crown, it's about the journey."​; thus, laying the foundation for her coaching. Pageantry is much more than winning a crown; it's about winning on the stage of life. It is Spruce's desire to take hold of a woman's heart and help her on her journey.
