By: AML Wrestling Just six short weeks after America's Most Liked Wrestling's tremendously successful and sold out cross-promotional card with Global Force Wrestling in Hickory, NC, AML Wrestling will be returning to High Point's Southside Recreation Center for another historic event. Sixteen of the most talented wrestlers in the region will do battle on Sunday, June 26 to become the very first AML Wrestling Prestige Champion. Four "four-corners" Let's break down the first eight competitors in the AML Prestige Title Tournament: THE COMPETITORS: CAPRICE COLEMAN. The former AML Wrestling champion, coming off a victory over Bullet Club member Chase Owens in Hickory, must be considered one of the favorites for the Prestige championship. He has the stamina, the experience, and a moveset second only to Cedric Alexander's in terms of effectiveness. On the downside, Coleman will enter the tournament with the proverbial target on his back, as virtually everyone will view him as a major threat. CEDRIC ALEXANDER (w/Tommy Thomas). One of the few in AML to boast of a pinfall victory over Coleman, Cedric has been the most dominant force on the AML roster (with the possible exception of fellow Tommy Thomas client "The Regulator.") Cedric's record speaks for itself, punctuated by a long tenure as a competitor on the Ring of Honor roster. In addition, "The Best in the World" recently was named as one of the competitors in the WWE Cruiserweight Challenge. He boasts a devastating brain buster, an array of high-flying moves, and his "lumbar check" backbreaker finisher that almost always means the match is over for his opponent. With Thomas in his corner, Alexander is among the favorites for the title. "WRESTLER EXTRAORDINAIRE" "THE SOUTHERN PSYCHO" ELLIOT RUSSELL. The other half of the AML Wrestling Tag Team Champions, Russell's bar-room brawling style may portend to success in the unique "four-corners" RAYO: The Peruvian newcomer to America's Most Liked Wrestling gets a rare opportunity in the tournament, as he received this spot in place of the absent Lio Rush (Lio Rush had to withdraw from the tournament due to a scheduling conflict with Ring of Honor). A cruiserweight with a world of potential, Rayo hopes to fly under the radar to worm his way into the finals. He's definitely a long shot, but the four-corners format gives him a chance to steal a victory. "MR EXCELLENCE" BRANDON SCOTT. This fast-rising superstar has been a fixture in AML for the last year, most recently as one half of "Team Axcellence" with fellow Prestige title hopeful Axton Ray. Scott has been turning heads all over the eastern seaboard, wrestling a multitude of styles. His ability to adapt to any situation tells me he could very easily reach the finals. "COUNTRY STRONG" AXTON RAY. This second-generation wrestler is the quickest man on the roster and the youngest at only 18. His best AML success has come in the tag team ranks with partner Brandon Scott, but he does have experience in four-corners format in AML competition. JASON "THE GIFT" KINCAID. Wrestling's "Technical Wizard" combines an unconventional style with bizarre behavior to make him the AML's most unique talent. Kincaid is best known for his long run in the Smoky Mountain territory, and he is the current NWA World Junior Heavyweight champion. His finisher, the "Grave of the Fireflies," usually leaves his opponents with a concussion. He's definitely a threat. UP NEXT: Scott previews competitors 8-16 in the AML Prestige Tournament!
