SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - June 17, 2016 - PRLog -- Paul Pelletier, owner of Edge Fitness is proud to announceEdge Fitness is now certified to train clients with Parkinson Wellness Recovery - PWR's Basic4 movements, thanks to Edge Fitness trainer Nicole Greene's recent completion of her PWR!Moves Instructor Training and Certification Course. Greene observed, participated, and trained with PWR instructors before passing her test and becoming a part of the PWR exercise expert network as a certified instructor. Edge Fitness is now better prepared to serve even more clients in non-contact boxing at Edge Fitness located at 7117 East Mercer Lane, Scottsdale, AZ 85254. Individual training is available for $50.00 an hour and a group of two or more for $25.00 per person with a complimentary first 1-hour session.

PWR!Moves build the foundation underlying all meaningful activities and target the symptoms of Parkinson disease that lead to the loss of skilled movements.

Edge Fitness can now train and serve even more clients in the community with its state of the art facilities and personalized training programs by specifically catering to clients diagnosed with Parkinson disease. Nicole Greene is excited to be able to now implement PWR!'s program as an addition to her non-contract boxing therapy for Parkinson disease.

Boxing works by moving your body in all planes of motion while continuously changing the routine as you progress through the workout. Boxing exercises have demonstrated that anyone, at any level of Parkinson's, can actually lessen their symptoms and lead a healthier, happier lifestyle.

PWR!Moves is a standalone exercise program that can also be integrated into other exercise approaches, such as boxing. It employees recent advances in basic and clinical science research that suggests exercise and learning approaches that promote aerobics and skill acquisition which may protect vulnerable neurons, repair damaged circuits, and optimize function in persons with Parkinson disease (PD). It is about slowing the disease progression and optimizing function.

The program is built on the framework of 20 fluid movements divided into 4 categories each consisting of 5 different positions. These building blocks The Basic4 include PWR!Up, Rock, Twist, and Step which are performed in Floor, All 4's, Sitting, and Standing positions and are designed to be continuously repeated in different real world contexts.

No other single intervention or treatment is associated with such a diverse array of benefits as exercise for individuals with Parkinson's disease. Physical activity for people with PD not only results in positive improvements in emotional, cognitive, physical, and non-motor symptoms, but it may also serve as a physiological modifier of the disease process. This means greater levels of physical activity may slow disease progression.

We provide complimentary bottled water and a workout towel for each workout. We have no hidden fees or add-ons that have been so accustomed at other facilities. No monthly membership fees here. Our packages are set up at 5, 10, 20, and 50 packs with payments that can be set up on our 20 and 50 packs. The more you commit to, the less per hour the training is. Our rates are very competitive in the community and we always offer the first session for free to show you the difference we offer in training.

Our trainers all come from exercise and wellness backgrounds and have been practicing in the personal training industry for several years. We also provide at no extra charge, custom meal plan guides for our clients. Our typical clients are ones who are looking for a dynamic and effective workout. Too often have we see the fitness industry stuck in a cycle of too much emphasis on equipment that has been around for decades.

Our trainers are up-to-date on the latest workout regiments that go above and beyond circuit machines and barbell/dumbbell routines. The body will reach it's true self by inducing several styles of working out that include: Olympic lifting, kettle bell training, powerlifting, plyometrics, kick boxing, and strength training. The body works through several energy systems and the type of workout you are doing will affect each and become more efficient over time. If you the client can provide the consistency, then our trainers can provide you with the intensity to get to any goal you want with your health and image. When those two things come together, your body with change with the proper routine. We invite everyone from the beginner to the seasoned lifter. If there is something you want to train for, let us provide a quality bridge to get you there. The Edge 7117 E. Mercer Lane, Scottsdale, AZ 85254 480-348-6868, www.theedgeofscottsdale.com
