Model 7383 8-Position COAX/RJ45 Switch with RS232 Remote Control and Certified for Cat6 Compliance

CRANSTON, R.I. - June 21, 2016 - PRLog -- Electro Standards Laboratories introduces the new Model 7383 Single Channel COAX/RJ45 Cat6 8-to-1 Switch with RS232 Remote Control.  The Model 7383 allows quick conversion and connection to any one of (8) RJ45 Cat6 interface devices from one Common COAX interface device.

The Model 7383 eliminates the need to plug and unplug cables.  Two pins of the Model 7383's RJ45 interface are switched via break-before-make electromechanical relays and the switch ports are transparent to all data.  (8) Manual pushbuttons located on the rear panel of the unit allow local switching and the switch can also be controlled remotely via ASCII RS232 commands.  Remote control operation of the Model 7383 is performed via DB9 female connector on rear panel, accepting ASCII RS232 Serial Data commands.    The switch also maintains position on power loss and continues to pass data.

The Model 7383 is enclosed in a 1U, full rack size, all metal black chassis designed to provide EMI/RFI shielding and fit in a standard 19" rack.  (8) Front panel red LED's display the switch's present position and power status.  There is not front panel control for this unit.
