The Balancing Act® Raises Awareness about the Growing Crisis of Homelessness and Hunger

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. - June 23, 2016 - PRLog -- The Balancing Act® welcomes award-winning photographer, Lew Lautin, Friday, June 24 at 7:30 a.m. (ET/PT) on Lifetime®.

Creating a Photographic Legacy - with the Who Are We Project

What began as a passion for photography blossomed into much more thru the love of humanity. The Who Are We project raises awareness of the growing crisis of homelessness and hunger using portraits from award-winning photographer, Lew Lautin. Each image captures the indomitable human spirit, creating a legacy for the nation's homeless and aiming to inspire others to donate to food pantries and shelters across the U.S. Lautin took the images over several years and countless hours spent interacting directly with the clients of local facilities. He asked people if they would like their portrait taken, and if so, would return the next week with the gift of a print. In this way, he attempted to restore some of each person's dignity, making them feel as if they were a "CEO getting a head shot." The Who Are We Project is funding the publication of a book of these images with an end goal of raising $500,000, all of which will benefit the homeless.
