OCEANSIDE, N.Y. - June 27, 2016 - PRLog -- Supporters of South Nassau Communities Hospital made history at the hospital's 32nd Annual Golf Outing, raising more than a quarter of a million dollars  in support of the expansion of the hospital's Emergency Department, breaking all previous records for the event and increasing net contributions by more than 20 percent over last year's outing.

The gross of $374,550 and net revenue of $265,197 made this the hospital's most successful golf outing in recent memory. South Nassau's President & CEO, Richard J. Murphy, credited the efforts of the Golf Committee; its Co-Chairs, Tony Cancellieri (a Vice Chair of South Nassau's board who also is a vice president at Park Strategies) and Jeffrey Greenfield (managing member, NGL Group, LLC,); along with the SNCH Development office and this year's golf outing honorees -Butch Yamali, president of the Dover Group in Freeport, NY, and Wayne Lipton, founder of Concierge Choice Physicians, LLC, Rockville Centre, NY.

The money raised at the June 13th outing  will support South Nassau's "Emergency Department Expansion Campaign," which is nearing the halfway point of its goal of raising $10 million to help fund the $60 million expansion and redesign project. The expansion project - which is already underway - will nearly double the space of the Oceanside Emergency Department, including a larger waiting area and separate treatment areas for pediatric, geriatric and behavioral health patients.

President of the Dover Group in Freeport, Mr. Yamali is a leading entrepreneur in the Long Island catering and restaurant industry. Founder of one of the largest hospitality, catering, vending, and ice cream providers in the metropolitan area, the Dover Group consists of a number of successful catering halls, restaurants and businesses including Dover's latest acquisition, The Milleridge Inn in Jericho, The Coral House in Baldwin, The Sands on Lido Beach Catering Hall, Malibu Shore Club, Camp Malibu, Maliblue Oyster Bar, Hudson's on the Mile, Dover Caterers, Quick Snack Vending, Dream Event Planning, Carnival Ice Cream and most recently, and Peter's Clam Bar in Island Park.

Mr. Yamali has been the recipient of numerous awards, including honorary Chief of the Island Park Fire Department (which he received last year), the Nassau County Republican Committee 2015 Business Man of the Year, The Leadership Award from the Freeport Union Free School District and the Humanitarian Award from the American Red Cross. Mr. Yamali's firm - The Dover Group - also has agreed to be the exclusive Event Underwriter for South Nassau's 2016 golf outing.

This year's co-honoree, Mr. Lipton, has nearly 40 years of experience in health care and business. Founder of Concierge Choice Physicians, LLC, which he formed in 2005, his firm services physicians nationally in marketing and administering concierge programs. The company operates in 23 states and is the second largest management company of its kind in the nation. Prior to heading up Concierge Choice Physicians, he served as chief operating officer for PhyMatrix, a public health care company.  A Rockville Centre Resident since 1980, Mr. Lipton owned and operated Richmind-Way Inc., a chain of discount drug stores for almost twenty years. The Company had its main office and largest store on Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre.

In addition to his successes in healthcare and business, Mr. Lipton has been active in various Rockville Centre civic efforts.  Named to South Nassau's Board of Directors in the spring of 2013, Mr. Lipton also serves as the president of the Rockville Centre Guild for the Arts.  Previously, he served on the RVC Planning Board for 10 years and acted as chairman for eight years, and served two terms on the Rockville Centre Board of Trustees with Mayor Eugene J. Murray.  For six of those eight years he served as deputy mayor. Mr. Lipton also served on both the Boards of Temple B'nai Shalom and Central Synagogue of Nassau County.  He was a Founding Board Member of the RVC Education Foundation.

When completed, the South Nassau Emergency Department expansion project will increase the Emergency Department's square footage from 16,000 to 30,000 square feet, increasing its overall size by 87% and giving it the necessary room to accommodate a projected 80,000 patient visits each year. The Emergency Department currently sees some 65,000 patients a year but was designed to handle 35,000 annually.

The department is a New York State Department of Health regional Stroke Center and is southern Nassau County's only Trauma Level II Center.  The department has over 35 large independent treatment bays, specialty treatment areas as well as its own dedicated Computerized Radiology Suite for rapid access for testing and results.
