CHICAGO - June 29, 2016 - PRLog -- Hermes (https://www.hermesworld.com/us/), a leading provider of end-to-end e-commerce and omnichannel services for fashion and lifestyle brands, is a recipient of a 2016 SDCE 100 award. Supply & Demand Chain Executive (SDCE), the executive's user manual for successful supply and demand chain transformation, announced Hermes' selection in its June issue.

The SDCE 100 is an annual list of 100 great supply chain projects. These projects can serve as a guide for supply chain executives who are looking for new opportunities to drive improvement in their own operations, illustrating how supply chain solution and service providers helped clients achieve supply chain excellence and success.

Hermes' project submission focused on its efforts to assist Wolford, a Bregenz, Austria -based retailer of luxury hosiery and lingerie, expand its global e-commerce business in a way that guaranteed online success and customer satisfaction. With Hermes' support, Wolford was able to minimize the costs needed to scale its business globally and accelerate expansion of its international e-commerce business to 16 countries, including the United States and China.

In part, Wolford achieved the key requirements for online success - high shop conversion rate, fast and free deliveries and exchanges, and excellent after-sales support  - by using Hermes' Smartful solution. The software provides a backend framework to meet payment processing, customer service, warehousing, omnichannel fulfillment and returns management needs. Wolford also achieved efficiencies by housing its products within Hermes' multi-client fulfillment facility in Haldersleben, Germany and taking advantage of Hermes' domestic delivery partner network to assure successful last-mile deliveries.

Post-project, Wolford reported that its online sales accounted for about 6 percent of its total sales and year-over-year business growth had surpassed 25 percent. In fact, Wolford's fiscal year 2015/2016 sales grew by as much as 50 percent as compared to the previous year.

Ronnie Garrett, editor of Supply & Demand Chain Executive, said, "Our goal with 2016's SDCE 100 is to shine the spotlight on successful and innovative transformation projects that deliver bottom-line value to small, medium and large enterprises across the supply chain. The selected projects can serve as a roadmap for supply chain executives looking for new opportunities to drive improvement in their own operations. We congratulate all of our winners for a job well done!"

Uwe Bald, vice president of international business development, Hermes, said, "Our efforts on behalf of Wolford demonstrate the impact an expert in e-commerce globalization can have. With service and solution offerings focusing on every segment of the supply chain, Hermes offers retailers of any size a pathway to successful internationalization. In our experience, the sales and growth statistics Wolford reports are typical of the results most of our clients see."

Bald continued, "Hermes is honored to be included on the SDCE 100 and named a recipient of this prestigious award. We thank SDCE for recognizing our efforts on behalf of Wolford and according Hermes this distinction."
