June 29, 2016 - PRLog -- LAUGHLIN CONSTABLE'S CHICAGO AND MILWAUKEE OFFICES WIN

NATIONAL WORKPLACE AWARDS FOR INNOVATION AND EFFECTIVENESS - AGAIN

CHICAGO and MILWAUKEE
-- For the second year in a row, both the Chicago and Milwaukee offices of Laughlin Constable (http://www.laughlin.com/) have won the coveted When Work Works Award presented by the Families and Work Institute (http://www.familiesandwork.org/about/) (FWI) and the Society for Human Resource Management (https://www.shrm.org/about/pages/default.aspx) (SHRM). Laughlin Constable is a fully-integrated national branding agency that was highlighted for its mentoring and training program that fosters learning among staff members at all levels.

"We are very focused on continuing to be the best place to work in integrated marketing in the country by offering the best benefits, workplace facilities, learning opportunities and a culture others try to duplicate," said Mat Lignel, CEO of Laughlin Constable. "Our unlimited vacation time and incentives for personal learning are a few of our progressive benefits that make Laughlin Constable attractive to talent everywhere."

Formerly known as the Alfred P. Sloan Awards for Excellence in Workplace Effectiveness and Flexibility, the When Work Works Award honors organizations that have created effective workplaces based on six evidence-based components that are linked with positive employee and employer outcomes, according to FWI. Those components are autonomy; work/life fit; supervisor support for work success; satisfaction with earnings, benefits and opportunities for advancement; opportunities for learning; and a culture of trust.

Selection involves a two-step process: an evaluation of employers' flexibility programs and practices and a confidential employee survey on the key ingredients of an effective and flexible workplace. Judges also consider employees' real-life experiences at their worksites. Applicants are measured against national norms from FWI's National Study of Employers (http://www.whenworkworks.org/be-effective/resources/natio...) and its National Study of the Changing Workforce (http://www.whenworkworks.org/be-effective/resources/natio...).

Laughlin Constable's Milwaukee office has now won the award for eight consecutive years and its Chicago office for five consecutive years.

"The 2016 When Work Works Award winners confirm that leading employers are continuing the movement toward effective workplace strategies that benefit both business and employees," said Lisa Horn, director of SHRM's workplace flexibility initiative, in a news statement. "These innovative strategies are what sets these organizations apart, allowing them to attract and retain top talent, giving them a competitive advantage."
