Gene R. Solomon, CPA, and Michele M. Hoover, CPA, merge to form Solomon & Hoover, CPAs, PLLC

FORT MYERS, Fla. - July 8, 2016 - PRLog -- Certified Public Accountants Gene R. Solomon and Michele R. Hoover have merged their accounting practices as of July 1, 2016 to form Solomon & Hoover, CPAs, PLLC. The new firm is located in the offices now occupied by the Solomon firm at the Key West Professional Center, 1342 Colonial Boulevard, Suite B-11, in Fort Myers, Florida 33907. All telephone and fax numbers will remain the same. Solomon & Hoover plans to open a second office soon at 16884 McGregor Blvd., Suite 103, for the convenience of their south Fort Myers, Sanibel and Captiva Islands, and Bonita Springs clients.

Gene Solomon, CPA, opened his Certified Public Accounting practice in Fort Myers in 1987 to provide personalized tax and financial services to individuals and businesses. He was formerly with Arthur Anderson in Tampa, Florida and later with Taylor, Edenfield, Gilliam & Wiltshire in Fort Myers, where he guided the tax practice through a merger with Coopers & Lybrand. Solomon has years of experience and a wide range of clients, specializing in estate, gift and income tax matters, including IRS examinations and related topics.

Michele Hoover, CPA, became the Managing Partner of Alexander & Hoover in 2009. She had formerly been with the Cleveland, Ohio Certified Public Accounting firm of Walthall, Drake & Wallace LLP for 11 years, where she represented more than 300 clients. She has over 20 years of public and corporate accounting and auditing experience. Her client services and specialties include audit team leadership and assisting clients in securing financing, bonding, and managing construction spending, projections and forecasts. Michele also performs audits, reviews, compilations, and tax returns. She has been a QuickBooks® Pro Advisor since 1999 and has taught Mastering QuickBooks® for Intuit.

Most of the firms' employees from the two separate offices will move to the merged firm, including Melanie Werley, Karen Zuck, Shelly Wellman, Kathleen Peer, Linda Schmelz, and Donna Santos. Ragan Votaw has joined the new firm as Office Manager.

Douglas Edwards, CPA, and Alisa B. Alexander, CPA, have fully retired. Edwards had been with Gene Solomon's office for many years, preparing individual and trust tax returns. He and his wife have officially become snowbirds, splitting their time between Southwest Florida and with family in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Alexander has been semi-retired for seven years in Kanab, Utah, fulfilling a dream to work with Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.
