SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - July 11, 2016 - PRLog -- Equestrian author and American Paint Horse Association member Carly Kade has penned a novel to pay homage to western pleasure for fans of breed horse shows.  Since its release at the end of 2015, In The Reins, a cowboy romance novel inspired by the equestrian lifestyle, has steadily climbed the charts to rave reviews.  The book has been an equestrian best seller on Amazon for more than 10 weeks.

The EQUUS Film Festival took notice.  In The Reins is an official 2016 EQUUS Film Festival literary selection.  The EQUUS Film Festival is the premier showcase for domestic and international equestrian content feature films, shorts, documentaries, music videos, commercials, training, educational materials, art & literature.  The authors and literary works that have been selected will compete for the chance to win a WINNIE Award (EQUUS Film Festival's equine equivalent of the Oscars).  Category winners will be revealed this November in New York City.

"Beverly Cleary once said, "If you don't see the book you want on the shelves, write it."  I think I've read everything in existence about horses, cowboys and romance.  However, I couldn't find a horse book series written about the western pleasure discipline," said Carly Kade, author of In The Reins.  "I wrote In The Reins because I wanted to read a love story themed around the type of breed horse shows that I compete in."

Set in modern Western culture, In The Reins is the story of a city-girl-gone-country, a handsome cowboy and a Paint Horse brought together by fate.  The leading lady's journey of self-discovery begins when she unexpectedly falls for the enigmatic Quarter Horse trainer, and then grapples with who he really is, where he goes when he disappears, and what it is that everyone doesn't want her to know about him.  A book with a left hook, readers ride along as the wannabe cowgirl learns whether or not the man, harboring a deeply guarded secret, can open himself up to the woman sitting in the saddle beside him.  Romantic and suspenseful, In The Reins captures the struggle between letting life move forward and shying away from taking the reins.

Uptown Magazine (https://issuu.com/richmanmediagroup/docs/ut-0716?e=146833...) selected Carly to grace the front cover of their publication and included a four-page article on her journey while writing book featuring an In The Reins excerpt in its July edition.  Uptown is the leading luxury lifestyle magazine for the Arcadia, Biltmore and Central Corridor areas in Arizona.

Heather and Horses Book Reviews gave the novel a starred review and called In The Reins "a book that will feel like coming home, complete with a sexy cowboy, a strong female lead, and beautiful horses."

Not your typical cowboy romance,In The Reins is based in modern cowgirl culture for readers who enjoy equestrian stories with a message similar to The Horse Whisperer by Nicholas Evans, The Longest Ride by Nicolas Sparks, or Flying Changes by Sara Gruen.  The novel is available now in paperback and eBook on Amazon.  Filmed in Arizona, the book trailer is viewable at www.carlykadecreative.com/media-room (http://www.carlykadecreative.com/media-room.html).
