Art Therapy Connection (ATC) Students Soar Despite Chicago's Inner-City Chaos

CHICAGO - July 12, 2016 - PRLog -- The numbers are in and Chicago Public School students who participated in Art Therapy Connection's in-school programs showed significant improvements during the 2015-16 school year despite the daily chaos and uncertainties they faced both inside and outside the classroom. Among the significant achievements of ATC's students during the 2015-16 school year were:

• ATC student participants averaged a 97% attendance rate compared to 93% overall for CPS students

• 90% of ATC student participants raised their standardized test scores by an average of 40%

• 75% of ATC student participants raised their math and reading grades by an average of 10%

• 100% of ATC student participants want to continue the art therapy program next school year

Art Therapy Connection is a 501-c3, non-profit organization that relies on private donations to fund its in-school art therapy program for at-risk Chicago Public School students. What does it cost to fund this program?

• $100 provides a year of art therapy supplies for one at-risk student

• $400 provides a semester of art therapy for one at-risk student

• $800 provides an entire year of art therapy for one student

• $2,000 provides a year of art therapy supplies for one CPS school
