National Artist Delivers "Rock 'N' Roll" Masterpieces

TROY, Mich. - July 13, 2016 - PRLog -- National sports artist Doug West, renowned for his paintings at the Baseball, Pro Football, Hockey and Michigan Sports Hall of Fame, has captured the heart of Rock 'N' Roll. The artist has painted a collection of Expressionist Rock 'N' Roll icons from the1960's - 2000's titled, "The Art of Rock 'N' Roll". The exhibition will be unveiled at an artist reception on Thursday, July 14th.at The Art of Custom Framing in Troy. The public reception starts at 5:30. The exhibit will showcase 22 past and present rock icons, from Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison to John Lennon's, "Ghost of Imagine". The exhibit runs through August 8th. Prints will be available through the gallery.

Detroit Public Television showcased West's new expressionist art on their Emmy winning art series, Detroit Performs. One of the highlights of the show was a painting titled, "A Tribute To Prince" which is currently under consideration for the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame.

Diana Lynn-Tomak, director of the gallery, describes West's work as unique, "Doug West's art simply takes your breath away."
