KENT, Ohio - July 13, 2016 - PRLog -- The College of Business Administration's Curtis Lockwood Reynolds, Ph.D. and associate economics professor has recently been honored as a Top Young Economist.

Taken from a pool of 20,900 economists worldwide, Reynolds was ranked 75th. He is ranked among other top young economists who have had a first publication released within the past ten years.

The Top 100 Economist's ranking was published on ideas.repec.org, a website designed to enhance research in economics through the use of the Research Papers in Economics (RePEc). RePEc is a collaborative effort of hundreds of volunteers who work to provide a database of working papers, journal articles, books and more. Authors are encouraged to register with RePEc and create an online profile including information such as their publications and additional research.

"It is gratifying to be recognized for my research and impact on the discipline of economics," said Reynolds. "The ranking includes thousands of young economists and it is an honor to be listed among the best. The College has been very supportive of my research efforts and I hope to continue to produce impactful and high-quality research. I also hope to encourage students to be more involved in research at both the graduate and undergraduate levels."

Reynolds earned doctorate and master's degrees from the University of Michigan and a bachelor's degree from Williams College. He started working at the College of Business Administration in 2007 and he currently teaches Principles of Microeconomics and the Economics of Labor Markets, as well as Managerial Economics for the MBA program.

"We greatly appreciate the hard work our faculty puts into their positions at the College of Business Administration," said Dean Deborah F. Spake. "Reynolds has an incredible work ethic and we are honored to have him at the College."

His teaching and research interests include economics, labor economics, public economics and the economics of education. Reynolds is a four-time recipient of the Outstanding MBA Professor Award and has been recognized with the College's Teaching Excellence Award.
