Lacrosse is a passionate game and anyone attached to it has developed almost a cult-like passion for it. It doesn't take much, either. Just one game and you're hooked.

Teams, ownerships, coaches, and players have moved around, but one thing will never change: the title of this book as it relates to this sport. If there was any phrase that could describe a league, this is it. The passion and loyalty remains, as do the life-long friendships I made during the course of my time in lax.

Jamey Bowen: "With lacrosse, you mention a nickname, everybody knows him, be it from , , or . It's a good group of people."

Brad MacDonald: "Once you're here, you can't really relax because there is always someone who can take your job. We have four or five guys that aren't in the lineup every night, so if you don't play that well in one game, you can have your spot taken."

Taylor Wray: "I've seen that happen in games where somebody slips and falls and their shorts slip around their ankles. You fall down a lot more in lacrosse than some other turf games. When you fall or slide in lacrosse, your shorts have a tendency to come down."

Pat McCready: "I wasn't drafted. I was a very defensive-minded player in junior. I got a walk-on tryout with the Buffalo Bandits. I was the last cut. There was an opportunity that opened up in for an expansion team down there. I packed everything up and moved down and made a go of it. I think at the time, we were getting paid about $200 a game. Just to try and live off that. There were some unique challenges. Lucky enough, they folded and I moved back to and got traded back to ." (Did the team pay for his trip to ?) "It was kind of like, get down there and we'll see. Then they took care of you a little bit when you got down."
