Steve Cooke's "California Girls Rock and Roll" nominated for Hollywood Music in Media Awards

LOS ANGELES - July 18, 2016 - PRLog -- Steve Cooke's new, upbeat fun single  "California Girls Rock and Roll" has been nominated for "Best Song" in the 'Hollywood Music in Media Awards' (HMMA).

The HMMA's honor musical work across different forms of media, including TV and video games, as well as original compositions and best performance etc.

Steve Cooke is no stranger to the Hollywood music scene, having won an HMMA in 2009 for his single "Working for the USA" in Americana. His album of the same name would later go onto win 'Best Album' at the Malibu Music Awards, a historical event where Glen Campbell received his 'Life time achievement' award.

Judges include, Verdine White (Earth, Wind & Fire), John Debney, Dave Mason, Nile Rogers, Adam Gaynor (Matchbox 20),  Michael Todd  (Sr. Director of , ASCAP).

Winners are chosen by select members of the 'Society of Composers & Lyricists', the 'TV Academy', the 'Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' music branch, the 'National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences' and performing-rights organizations, as well as film-music journalists and music executives.

The HMMA's are a fair indicator of best original song and best original score for the Golden Globe and Oscar noms — all five HMMA score nominees last year were also nominated for the corresponding Golden Globe awards.

Steve Cooke's new single "California Girls Rock'n'Roll' was released to a full house at his BritWeek 10^th anniversary Rock'n' Roll concert in May.

His single conjures up visions of driving along the Pacific Coast Highway with the wind in your hair and the setting sun upon your face, as you speed head long into the evening, excited about the beautiful California girls and the wild Hollywood night life that awaits you.
