By: The Kit Marlowe Film Co. PLC LONDON - July 25, 2016 - PRLog -- Francis Hamit has won the Screenplay category at the 11th Annual Hollywood Book Festival for his soon-to-be-produced script "Christopher Marlowe".
The Elizabethan- It will be directed by Michael John Donahue, DGA, and produced by Gary Kurtz. Negotiations for cast and financing are ongoing. The production company is The Kit Marlowe Film Co. PLC which was established in 2014 to access tax incentives offered by the UK. "It has been known for a long time that Christopher Marlowe was a spy for the Crown," Hamit said. "But the details have not been widely available and it took a lot of research and several drafts to get the story right. It is a tragedy because Marlowe, who was very ambitious, gave significant service to his Queen, but it was at her order that he was secretly assassinated, because he had expressed heretical opinions. They were all friends of his and fellow agents." Hamit added, "We hope to make this a world-class production that everyone will want to see, and we are committed to making this with a UK cast and crew, in the UK. The screenplay is always the heart of any film, so I am very happy that ours has been recognized by the Hollywood Book Festival." Hamit is the author of several novels in the spy genre, which can be found at bookstores everywhere. He is a graduate of the Iowa Writers Workshop and lives in Los Angeles. https://www.facebook.com/ End
