B. Tech. Counselling at UPES Followed with PEP Programme

DEHRADUN, India - July 29, 2016 - PRLog -- University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun has witnessed an overwhelming response at the registration counter of its Bidholi campus since the enrolments started. Registrations for the counselling session began on 25th of July provided with the fact that it is to be followed with a Personality Enhancement Programme (PEP). The PEP programme is to follow before the session starts after filling-in the seats for this batch.

Students who fulfil the admission criteria have already been accepted to pursue a B. Tech. course in various disciplines at the university. The aspirants were segregated into groups to study different courses by getting selected through an orientation that was immediately held after the registrations. For the people who do not know, students are to be registered only if they have cleared the admission entrance and made it to the selection criteria.

Then, they fill the applications for being counselled for which aspirants need to furnish details – the course they are opting for, date of birth, email, mobile and their city. Feature in the list of those who wish to join the UPES, and you may be called for the counselling. Thereafter, the Personality Enhancement Programme is to take place according to a schedule to be adopted by those engineering aspirants who got enrolled already. If you have decided to study here for the next four years then just watch out for the exciting PEP 2016 to be rolled out in four phases.

Objectives of PEP

The aim behind holding this programme is to achieve many of its objectives like going for an intensive self-reflection while working towards an enhanced persona. It is also to welcome the transition of a student into university life. PEP also acts as a platform to strike a camaraderie and bonhomie. Through introspection, activities and training, it is considered a process of self-development too.

Subject Areas Covered

The B. Tech. students can select their subject area from a number of offerings, such as oil and gas, power, infrastructure, aviation and aerospace, mechanical and high technology. There are more options like health, safety and environment and information technology to be pursued. The College of Engineering Studies at UPES imparts several undergraduate, postgraduate, part-time PhD programmes and higher doctoral degree programmes in engineering. Here, you may gain knowledge about different areas of engineering, such as electrical, petroleum, electronics and instrumentation, chemical, mechanical, aerospace, civil and information technology.
