Mango Sound Mozambique opens new ways for music production in Central Mozambique

BEIRA, Mozambique - Aug. 2, 2016 - PRLog -- Mango Sound Mozambique just launched a crowdfunding campaign in Central Mozambique to produce local artist's Chinho Raposo debut album.

About Mango Sound Mozambique

In Mozambique music talent and potential are not met by opportunities. The region lacks both technical infrastructure and expertise.

Mango Sound Mozambique, founded in 2014 in Beira, Mozambique, by Austrian audio engineer Andreas Scheibenreif, is devoted to the development of local artists. It operates a recording studio in Beira and offers professional music production. Mango Sound Mozambique also organizes regular concerts and activities, and educates local technicians free of charge.

The Crowdfunding Campaign

Mango Sound Mozambique is now implementing crowdfunding as a new way for musicians to gain access to professional music production. Crowdfunding is a novelty in Central Mozambique and represents a practical way to obtain financial support for local projects.

The campaign aims at collecting 2500 USD to cover the costs of studio recording. MASTERLIZER, the online audio mastering tool, already supports the project by providing free mastering of the album, while TuneCore will sponsor the digital distribution.

After this first pilot-project further campaigns will be launched for different artists.

About Chinho Raposo

Chinho Raposo's Afro-Fusion music gathers influences from traditional music, contemporary Mozambique and beyond. The lyrical inspiration comes from daily life and often deals with social issues like violence, child marriage, malaria, HIV.

He has already written more than 40 songs in 5 languages (Sena, Chimanica, Portuguese, English and German).

In the last few years he performed at different national art festivals and his live recording of Rhudo Ro Hama – an absolute novelty as live recording are non-existent in Mozambique - reached the finals of Mozambique's biggest music competition in 2015.

Chinho Raposo has been promoting live music in his hometown Chimoio for years, as no opportunities to play live are available to local musicians. His weekly engagement at the Centro Cultural Montalto features different local artists every week.
