By: INCOSE Robert Kenley Kenley – an associate professor of engineering practice at Purdue University – has a doctorate in engineering- Rick Steiner, ESEP Steiner – an instructor at UC San Diego Extension and co-author of "A Practical Guide to SysML: The Systems Modeling Language," – has been a systems engineer and architect for more than 30 years. As a practitioner and proponent of model based systems engineering (MBSE), Steiner focuses on making the practice of systems engineering better and more efficient. He received his INCOSE Expert Systems Engineering Professional certification in 2014. The awards were presented at INCOSE's International Symposium, the organization's annual flagship event for systems engineers worldwide, July 18 to 21 in Edinburgh, Scotland.
